WITH THE PROCEEDINGS AND DONATIONS OF THIS PROGRAMM THE FOLLOWING ORGANIZATIONS WILL BE SUPPORTED:
M With violin, cello, drums and vocals, 3 classically trained musicians with many years of experience have delighted their fans across Europe since 2005. First of all, the boys earned a large fan base on the street with their self-composed German and English songs. Since their appearances on the Pro 7 show “Germanys next Showstars” 2009, they have regularly filled halls in their Saxon and Berlin homeland with up to 600 concert visitors.
Cellist Sebastian Maul and violinist Philippe Polyak develop a captivating stage presence by standing and singing their instruments. Konstantin Chiddi provides the driving beats on the drums, which together with the two string instruments make up the unique crossover sound of Stilbruch. The musicians describe the direction of their music as “New Classic”, whereby the band with additional guest musicians (additional string quartet, guitar, choir) generates an enormous range from rock arrangements to monumental orchestral sounds.
U Originally founded in 2005 by 3 Dresden music students, Stilbruch soon made a name for itself through street music in the Saxon homeland. First engagements and street music tours all over Europe followed and encouraged the young band to intensify their musical work and refine their own sound.
After several appearances and line-up changes, the band came to one of the numerous Pro 7 casting shows. An reached final and a European tour in the preliminary program of DJ Bobo followed. Many large concerts and an excessive tour life culminated in a return to music and one’s own sound.
I In today’s line-up, a new style break identity was reinvented. Initially, the focus was on interpreting rock music on classical instruments, the band thought about its strengths. The classic roots are now the starting point for a musical examination of the genres of contemporary pop culture. The sophisticated German songs impress with their high-quality, yet rocking arrangements. No more trying to imitate rock music with cello and violin, but a new classic – New Classic is today’s trademark of this extraordinary band.
The first three releases of Stilbruch “Neuland” (2009), “Stilbruch – Live” (2011) and “Anything can happen” (2013) sold more than 40,000 copies. The studio album “Take Me With You” (2016) rose to number 79 in the German TOP 100 album charts. The band is currently on the road throughout Germany with “Heimat live” (2019).
